“The more successful you become, the higher the quality of the challenges you will face” – Rich Litvin

Powerful yet so true.

Have you ever achieved a level of success you’ve always wanted and found the journey that follows after, is stress & challenge free…..

I thought so too….neither has anyone else before.

The conundrum that many ambitious, driven, success orientated & impact focused people experience is that, the greater the vision or goal, the more interesting yet complex the challenges are that come with it.

Through my passion and coaching where I’ve had the privilege of working with a number of leaders, executives, founders & entrepreneurs to create more high performance & success in their lives,

something I find my clients experience and come up against time & time again is pressure & stress.

The pressure of leaving a legacy behind, achieving your extraordinary vision & the impact you want to have in your world, business, company or the teams you are leading.

Also not forgetting the feeling of ‘so much to do yet so little time.

Times of self doubt & times of uncertainty.

One of the most detrimental effects of not leaning in and managing your feelings & emotions is that it is very easy to then loose passion and enjoyment for your work, your mission & your craft.

We’ve all been there, does this sound familiar at all to you?

Well I have some good news, through today’s article I want to share with you 3 simple truths that can help you handle and even breakthrough moments where you feel the pressure & stress building up.

Enjoy and as you read through the truths, ask yourself not whether you know these or not, but how well you are applying them in your world

&

what you can do to apply these principles even more effectively to situations of stress and pressure.

Truth 1: Every situation is temporary, including the one you are experiencing right now

Og Mandino famously in his book ‘The greatest salesman in the world’ once stated “This too Shall Pass”

Every situation you go through & experience, is temporary.

Every single situation…situations of stress, of pressure, tiredness, frustration or any other emotion are temporary and will pass if you allow it too.

If you don’t believe me, look at your history and past. Are you still living and experiencing all the stressful moments you’ve come across from 1,2,3,5,10 years ago?

Every situation is temporary but even more excitingly, you’ve handled such stresses & pressures before & you can handle it again.

Think about that for a moment….

What if you were to give yourself time, space and presence to acknowledge yourself for and celebrate all the moments in the past you had overcome such moments….

How would you then feel about the situation today?

Which brings me perfectly timed on to point 2

Truth 2
: “You create your world from the inside out”- Michael Neill

I love this quote from Michael and this is such a powerful truth.

Stress is only as stressful as we make it. Pressure is only as pressured as we allow it to be.

We create our entire world from the inside (our thoughts, focus, feelings, emotions, decisions, actions) to the outside (our results & what we see).

During times of pressure & stress, it is not easy to focus on how we’ve been through times of pressure, stress & challenge before…and emerged victorious!

But the more self aware we become and then begin to take charge of our thinking, focus & decisions during moments of challenge, the situation in front of us changes.

Whatever you focus on expands and is the very experience you steer towards.

So, here are a few questions I would invite you to ponder:

-What could you do more of during times of challenge?

-What could you think about/focus on that would serve you better during times of uncertainty?

-What advice would you have for a friend/colleague who was experiencing a similar situation?

Take some moments to answer these questions and see what you come up with.

Truth 3:To achieve & have more we must first become more

Challenges are the gifts we grow from and grow through.

I strongly believe that we shouldn’t just go through our times of uncertainty but to grow through them instead.

One of my favourite truths of life that I was taught very earlier on by my mentor is that in order for us to have more & achieve more in life, we must first become more.

We become more by embracing the higher quality challenges and growing through them whilst strengthening our skills set, our mindset, emotions, leadership & who we ultimately become.

Here’s another question I invite you to think about

What have been the gifts, rewards & learnings you’ve gained as a result of growing through moments of stress and pressure?

Take a few minutes & journal/write down your answers… see what you come up with and ask yourself how inspired you feel now thinking about this.

These 3 truths are the very insights I bring myself back to when I go through times of uncertainty.

These 3 truths are the foundations I have seen my clients build extraordinary things as a result of stress & pressure.

I hope you have resonated with & truly enjoyed the 3 truths I have shared with you today.

Take the truths in to your world, life & business and create the impact you truly deserve.
